Description

Park Lanes is one of Anchorage's established bowling centers, located at 151 Park Lane in the residential mid-eastside of the city. It's an independently run facility that has been part of the local recreational landscape long enough to have built genuine regulars — the kind of bowling alley where the staff knows the league players by name and the house balls are well-used.

Open Bowling and Rates

Park Lanes offers regular open bowling by the game or by the hour, depending on availability and the day. The lanes are available most evenings for general use, and daytime hours offer more flexibility for afternoon visits. Shoe rental is available at the front desk. The pricing is consistent with other community bowling centers in Anchorage, making it a reasonable budget activity for families and groups.

Kids Bowl Free Program

Park Lanes participates in the Kids Bowl Free summer program, which runs April through September and gives children free games daily during summer months. This makes it a practical warm-weather indoor option for families with kids who need a break from outdoor activities or a rainy-day alternative during Anchorage's shoulder season. Registration for the free program is available on the Kids Bowl Free website.

League Play

The center runs adult and mixed bowling leagues throughout the year. League night schedules vary by season — contact the center for current availability if you're interested in joining a league partway through the year. Drop-in open bowling availability depends on league reservations and can be more limited on weekday evenings.

Getting There

Park Lanes is at 151 Park Lane, accessible from the major east Anchorage arterials. On-site parking is available.

More Bowling in Anchorage

Anchorage has a few options for lanes. Eagle River Bowl serves the Eagle River and Chugiak communities north of the city. JBER Polar Bowl is the largest facility in the area at 40 lanes, though it requires military affiliation or a sponsor for access. For a family activity that isn't bowling, the Anchorage Museum downtown is a strong rainy-day option.
