Description

Alaska ATV Adventures is the first and only company licensed to lead ATV and UTV tours through the spectacular backcountry of Chugach State Park, just 30 miles south of downtown Anchorage. Founded in 1996 and featured in Field & Stream and Quad Off-Road Magazine, they have spent nearly three decades perfecting guided off-road adventures that showcase Alaska's raw wilderness in a way no other operator can match.

Their flagship tour, the Chugach State Park Backcountry ATV Excursion, departs from the Bird Valley Trailhead twice daily at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Over three exhilarating hours, guests ride powerful ATVs through terrain that is otherwise inaccessible to the public — crossing glacial streambeds, navigating mountain passes, stopping at secluded waterfalls, and frequently spotting brown bears, moose, Dall sheep, and eagles along the way. At $250 per person, it is widely considered one of the best-value wilderness experiences in Southcentral Alaska.

For larger groups or a different perspective, the Eklutna Lake UTV Tour ($354/person) offers a side-by-side UTV experience through equally dramatic scenery. ATV machine-only rentals are also available starting at $220 for a three-day minimum, ideal for experienced riders who want to explore on their own schedule.

Tours run seasonally from mid-May through early September. Passengers must be at least 8 years old, 48 inches tall, and 50 pounds. ATV drivers must be 16 or older, at least 60 inches tall, and 100 pounds. Booking is available 24/7 online through FareHarbor or by phone. Cancellations made 15 or more days in advance receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee; cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable.

Whether you are a first-time off-roader or a seasoned trail rider, Alaska ATV Adventures delivers an unforgettable Chugach backcountry experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the state.
