Description

Wild Scoops is Anchorage's most inventive small-batch ice cream company, founded in 2015 with a mission to capture the flavors of Alaska in every scoop. Handcrafted from locally sourced ingredients, each batch reflects the season and the landscape — spruce tips harvested in spring, fireweed picked at peak bloom, wild blueberries from the boreal forest, and birch syrup tapped from Interior Alaska trees.

The year-round Midtown location at 530 E. Benson Boulevard serves the full rotating menu, typically offering 12–16 flavors at any one time. Partnerships with local producers — including VanderWeele Farm, Bridge Creek Birch Syrup, and Chugach Chocolates — infuse each flavor with a genuine sense of place. Seasonal offerings rotate as ingredients become available, making each visit a chance to discover something new. Classic flavors coexist alongside experimental foraged combinations, satisfying both adventurous palates and traditionalists.

Wild Scoops also operates a seasonal downtown location at 429 E. Street and a summer pop-up Cone-tainer outside 49th State Brewing, expanding access to their handcrafted flavors across Anchorage. All three locations share the same commitment to local sourcing and original recipe development that has made the brand a point of pride in the city's food scene.

Open daily from noon to 10 PM, the Midtown shop is family-friendly and unpretentious. With over 22,000 Instagram followers and a loyal local following built on product quality, Wild Scoops has become an essential stop on any Anchorage culinary itinerary — and a compelling argument that Alaska's ice cream culture is unlike anywhere else in the country.
