Description

Pho Vietnam has been bringing the flavors of Southeast Asia to Anchorage since 2009, growing from a single restaurant to four locations across the city. The Denali Street location is the chain's flagship, serving a loyal following of regulars who come for the rich, slow-simmered pho broths and a Thai menu that holds its own alongside the Vietnamese classics.

The pho is the star of the show. The Pho Tai Nam — raw thinly sliced beef and brisket in a deeply savory beef broth — is consistently praised as one of the best in Anchorage. The Pho Combo and Seafood Pho are close runner-ups, and the ox tail pho is a rich, indulgent treat for broth lovers. Beyond pho, the menu spans vermicelli bowls, Vietnamese-style crepes (banh cuon), fresh spring rolls, and lemongrass dishes. The Thai half of the menu is equally strong: Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and a range of red, green, and Panang curries keep the menu interesting for those who want something beyond pho.

Vegetarian options run throughout both menus, and the kitchen is well-practiced at swapping proteins. Fresh young coconut juice, avocado and mango shakes, and Thai iced tea round out the drink menu. Delivery and takeout are available, and the dine-in experience is casual and family-friendly — bright, cozy, and fast.

With a 4.6 food rating on Restaurantji, 179 Yelp reviews, and a 90% recommendation rate on Facebook, Pho Vietnam has built a strong and well-earned reputation in Anchorage's dining scene. The tagline says it all: for a taste of Vietnam and Thailand without leaving Anchorage.

Open Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
