Description
Ready for something a little more special? Pearl is Anchorage's champagne and oyster bar, tucked into a candlelit room on D Street downtown, where the focus is on what's fresh, local, and worth celebrating.
What Pearl Does Best
The menu is tight and intentional. Oysters are sourced from Alaska waters whenever possible and served in theatrical fashion — on lava-rock bowls, over sea grass, on frozen stones that keep your bivalves cold to the last bite. The kitchen also turns out duck liver pâté with pickled raspberry jam, beef tartare with quail egg, and other small plates that reward the adventurous. Behind the bar, more than 80 wines, beers, and spirits give you plenty to pair.
Pearl occupies the space that once housed Bubbly Mermaid, Anchorage's beloved oyster bar that closed during the pandemic. The new team has elevated the concept: same D Street address, more polished execution, and a wine list with real ambition.
Plan Your Visit
Pearl is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. It's closed Sunday and Monday. Reservations are a good idea on weekends — the room is small, and the atmosphere shifts fast when it fills. Arrive early for the best oyster selection.
Pearl pairs naturally with an evening at the Anchorage Museum a few blocks away, or as a prelude to a nightcap at Anchorage Distillery. For fresh Alaska seafood to take home the next morning, 10th & M Seafoods is just around the corner.
