Description
Perched on the shores of Fox Island — a tranquil island sanctuary in the middle of Resurrection Bay — the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge offers one of the most immersive and remote overnight experiences in all of Alaska. Accessible only by boat from Seward, this all-inclusive wilderness retreat is operated by the Alaska Collection and sits just outside the boundary of Kenai Fjords National Park, surrounded by glaciers, sea life, and old-growth coastal forest.
The lodge features eight beautifully appointed waterfront cabins, each recently renovated and accommodating up to four guests. Every cabin includes a queen bed, queen sleeper sofa, private bath with shower, propane heat, and solar-powered electric lights — modern comforts in a wild setting deliberately free of phones, television, and radio. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of Halibut Cove, where sea lions and humpback whales are frequent visitors.
Your stay is fully all-inclusive. An on-site Island Chef prepares three daily meals featuring seasonal ingredients sourced from Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, served in the lodge's great hall overlooking the bay. Guests arrive via glacier and wildlife cruise, and once on island the activities are yours to define: launch a sea kayak to explore hidden coves, hike trails through the coastal forest, beachcomb for treasures along the shoreline, or simply sit with a cup of coffee and watch for eagles overhead. Evening conversations around the firepit under the midnight sun complete the experience.
The lodge operates seasonally from late May through early September. Round-trip boat transportation departs from Seward Harbor. Whether you book a single night or a multi-day stay, Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge delivers a level of wild seclusion that is increasingly rare — and unforgettable. Reservations are available through the Alaska Collection website or by phone.
