Description
Moose Run Golf Course delivers 36 holes of public golf on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, tucked against the Chugach Mountains northeast of Anchorage. Civilians are fully welcome — no military ID required — making this one of Anchorage's most accessible and scenic courses, and consistently one of the best values in Alaska.
The Hill Course and Creek Course each offer 18 holes of distinct character. The Hill Course opened for the 2026 season on May 15, with the Creek Course to follow soon after. Both layouts wind through birch and spruce stands with dramatic Chugach Mountain views, offering a scenic backdrop that's hard to find on any other public course in the country.
Green fees are straightforward: weekday 18-hole rounds run $53 per person ($36 for 9 holes), with weekend rates at $56 ($39 for 9 holes). Seniors 60 and older receive a modest discount — $50 weekday and $53 weekend for 18 holes. Cart rentals are $22 for 18 holes or $18 for 9; push carts are available at $7, and club rentals run $20–35.
The on-site Grizzly Grill serves food and drinks from 7:30 AM to 7 PM daily, making it easy to fuel up before an early round or unwind after the back nine. The pro shop and driving range open at 7:30 AM; tee times are bookable from 8 AM to 7 PM. Online tee time reservations are available at mooserungolfcourse.com.
Whether you are a visitor squeezing in a round between Anchorage adventures or a local golfer looking for a reliable go-to course, Moose Run is the city's definitive public golf destination. Affordable fees, 36 holes, a mountain backdrop, and zero access restrictions make it genuinely hard to beat.
