Baseball Under the Midnight Sun
The Anchorage Midnight Sun Baseball Classic takes advantage of Alaska's legendary summer solstice to host an unforgettable baseball tournament that celebrates both America's pastime and the unique wonder of Alaska's endless daylight. Teams from across Alaska and the Lower 48 compete in this annual tournament that showcases baseball at its most atmospheric.
The tournament features multiple divisions from youth leagues to adult competitive teams, creating a comprehensive celebration of baseball that brings together players of all skill levels. Games are scheduled throughout the weekend with the championship games coinciding with the summer solstice, allowing for truly unique midnight baseball experiences.
Spectator amenities include food vendors featuring Alaska favorites like reindeer sausage and salmon burgers, local craft beer gardens, and family areas with activities for children between games. The natural amphitheater setting provides stunning views of the Chugach Mountains while maintaining the intimate community feel that makes Alaska baseball special.
The tournament culminates with the traditional Midnight Sun Championship game that begins at 11:00 PM on June 21st, taking advantage of Alaska's natural lighting for an authentic midnight baseball experience that visiting teams and spectators will never forget.
