Description

Double Shovel Cidery is Alaska's original craft cidery, producing handcrafted hard ciders from a production facility and taproom on Anchorage's south side. Founded with a commitment to using quality ingredients and showcasing distinct regional flavors, Double Shovel has grown from a pioneering local startup into one of Anchorage's most beloved independent beverage destinations.

The Anchorage taproom at 502 W. 58th Avenue serves the full range of Double Shovel's rotating and flagship ciders on draft — from dry and crisp traditional-style hard ciders to fruit-forward seasonal varieties made with Pacific Northwest and Alaska-inspired ingredients. The relaxed taproom atmosphere pairs naturally with visiting food trucks that park regularly outside, and on-site locally sourced ice cream options make the taproom a welcoming stop for everyone, including non-drinkers and families.

Cider flights are available for first-time visitors curious to sample the range, and growler fills let fans take their favorites home. Double Shovel collaborates frequently with other local Anchorage food and beverage businesses, reflecting the supportive, tight-knit character of the city's craft scene. With a dedicated following that includes over 19,000 Instagram followers, the cidery has become a genuine community gathering point as much as a tasting room.

The taproom is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 9 PM and Sunday from noon to 6 PM. Whether you're stopping in after a day on the trails or making it a destination evening, Double Shovel Cidery is a point of pride for Anchorage's craft beverage community and a must-visit for anyone exploring Alaska's local food and drink culture.
