Description

Anchorage Concert Association has shaped Alaska's cultural calendar for more than seven decades, bringing internationally acclaimed artists to Anchorage's Atwood Concert Hall at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Founded in 1950 by classical music enthusiasts, the organization has grown into the largest performing arts presenter in Alaska — large enough to anchor the touring schedules of major acts traveling through the Pacific Northwest.

Each season, the ACA brings 20 or more performances spanning a remarkable range: Broadway touring productions, world-class orchestras, jazz luminaries, dance companies, folk and world music ensembles, and contemporary artists who defy easy categorization. The 2025–26 season included 21 shows — from Celtic Woman and The Peking Acrobats to intimate storytelling nights from The Moth — demonstrating that Anchorage audiences can access the same caliber of live performance found in major American cities.

Beyond the concert hall, the ACA runs an extensive community outreach program. The free Summer Concert Series brings live music to Anchorage parks and outdoor stages from June through August, with local and touring acts performing at no cost to the public. The organization also connects visiting artists with Anchorage communities through school workshops, house concerts, and Community Artist Projects that bring world-class performers directly into neighborhoods across the city.

The ACA office is located at 430 W. 7th Ave., Suite 200 in downtown Anchorage; the building is closed to the public, so call ahead before visiting. Office hours run Monday–Friday during the season. Tickets are available through the ACA website and the CenterTix box office at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts — season subscriptions offer priority seating and the best per-show value of any option.
