China Lights Oriental Cuisine

China Lights Oriental Cuisine is one of South Anchorage's largest dining destinations — a full-service Pan-Asian all-you-can-eat buffet at 9220 Old Seward Highway with more than 60 dishes on the spread on any given visit, from house sushi rolls and fresh seafood to Mongolian beef, General Tso's Chicken, house soups, and a dessert station. With seating for more than 250 guests, it has become the area's default destination for large-group Asian dining, family celebrations, and anyone who wants significant variety without committing to a single cuisine.

The buffet covers the major categories: a hot entree section running through Cantonese, Sichuan, and American-Chinese preparations; a dedicated sushi bar with maki rolls, nigiri, and specialty pieces; a seafood station that typically includes crab legs; a soup and salad bar; and a full dessert spread. Lunch pricing is $22.95 per adult (11 AM–3:30 PM); dinner is $29.95; and Sunday pricing is $32.95, reflecting expanded service. Kids pricing scales with age; seniors and active military receive a 10% discount. A vegetarian option ($15 salad bar and dessert access) and gluten-free ordering are available for guests with dietary restrictions.

Takeout is available for the full menu, and third-party delivery is offered through standard platforms. A buffet-to-go option ($15–20/lb) lets guests pack out a spread without dining in. The restaurant handles private events and catering for groups up to 120 — making it a practical choice for corporate functions, graduation parties, and other large gatherings that need a crowd-pleasing, flexible menu.

China Lights is open Monday, Wednesday through Saturday, and Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM (lunch pricing until 3:30 PM; dinner from 3:30 PM). Closed Tuesdays.
